Chestnut Commons

Chestnut Commons, located at 110 Dinsmore Place in Brooklyn, NY, is a 14-story affordable multifamily housing development consisting of 275 residential units. Completed in 2021, the project was designed to meet Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) certification standards and align with NYC Active Design Guidelines, prioritizing energy efficiency, resident health, and long-term building resilience.

As part of its sustainable envelope strategy, the building features INTUS Supera windows with steel-reinforced frames and double and triple-glazed glass packages, including laminated and Low-E coated options such as SunGuard®. These high-performance windows were selected for their outstanding thermal insulation, airtightness, and sound control - contributing significantly to the building’s Passive House performance.

The project highlights how INTUS Windows products support the creation of high-performance, affordable housing that meets rigorous energy standards while delivering exceptional comfort for residents.
