ABOUT PROJECT
Appalachian State University Faculty & Staff Housing
Appalachian State University Faculty & Staff Housing is a mid-rise residential development located on Bodenheimer Drive in Boone, North Carolina. The project uses INTUS energy-efficient window systems designed to meet thermal and acoustic performance targets in institutional housing environments.
The windows are double-glazed with 22mm and 24mm thick tempered glass, including configurations suited for high-altitude applications. The glazing system provides a U-value of 0.26, SHGC of 0.26, and visible transmittance of 0.61. Air infiltration is rated at 0.1 cfm/ft², with water penetration resistance of 10.65 psf and a design pressure of ±70.18 psf.
Sound performance reaches STC 32 / OITC 26, supporting a quieter indoor environment.
