INTUS Double Pane Windows & Storefronts
set to acheive LEED Silver Certification
INTUS Arcade steel reinforced double pane polymer windows and storefronts is helping New Courtland Living Independently for Elders (LIFE) achieve LEED Silver certification. “The center will provide quality healthcare and supportive services to over 350 seniors and frail elders in the surrounding neighborhoods.”
The LIFE center is an 18,210 SF facility in the footprint of a former state-operated psychiatric hospital. It’s been funded by Partners for the Common Good’s $5 million NMTC allocation and will significantly impact the surrounding community. This part of Philadephia has a 25% poverty rate and an unemployment rate 2.4 times the national average but the development is created 100 permanent jobs and 125 construction jobs.
This mixed-use of senior services will have 540 affordable housing units, a health center, and medical offices. INTUS is glad to have yet another affordable senior housing project to it’s portfolio. Projects like these go to show that energy efficiency, affordability, and sustainability is possible within the building industry.
