The project is a partnership between The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corp. (WHEDco.) and affordable housing developer, BFC Partners, and has been funded almost entirely through city and state funds.
Bronx Commons has been dubbed a game-changer for not only The Bronx, but NYC as a whole. In addition to the 305 residential affordable apartments, this mixed-use building features a 300-seat music and arts venue – The Bronx Music Hall at 14,000 SF with 300-seats to bring the deep rooted music history of The Bronx to the community. The music hall will benefit the entire area with community events to bring people together. The village inspired public plaza and green space are great perks for residents who can watch their children play from their apartments and will encourage health and outdoor activities.
