INTUS balcony doors conserve energy, increase thermal performance, reduce noise, and are diversely stylish. Our polymer triple and double pane doors are reinforced with steel u-channels for increased strength and stability. We use phthalate-free unplasticized-polyvinyl chloride (U-PVC) with no added plasticizers – creating a stronger, longer lasting, more UV resistant window frame. INTUS balcony doors are rot resistant, require very minimal maintenance, and are available in a wide variety of durable and dirt resistant laminate finishes. INTUS Windows utilizes polymer window and door frames that are reinforced with steel u-channels for increased strength and stability. The use of unplasticized-polyvinyl chloride or uPVC which has no plasticizers added and resulting window frame is stronger, longer lasting and much more UV resistant. The uPVC frames do not rot and do not require painting and the window & door frames are available in a wide variety of laminate colors. The use of triple pane glazing makes for superior energy efficiency, interior comfort, and noise reduction.

RENOLIT EXOFOL MX for Interiors
- First/Base Layer: The base film uses color pigments with Solar Shield Technology which protect the profile against excessive heat build-up. These pigments reduce the infrared radiation and heat build up in the profile. This layer can be a solid color or a design such as a wood grain.
- Second Layer: The middle layer is the upper transparent PMMA layer which protects the colors and designs against fading caused by UV radiation or other weathering effects.
- Third/Top Layer: The transparent upper layer is made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and absorbs more than 95% of UV-radiation. This means your chosen color or design below will be protected from fading and weather effects.
RENOLIT EXOFOL FX for Exteriors
RENOLIT EXOFOL FX films are high-performance films that set new standards on color fastness and protection globally. They are a weather and ultraviolet resistant, dirt repellent, multi-layer film. Cleaning, and even graffiti removal is a breeze due to the film’s low surface tension, and the high-performance material retains its gloss throughout its service life. The overall film thickness is 170 – 180 μm, and weather exposure tests have confirmed that RENOLIT EXOFOL FX far exceeds the requirements of the RAL quality standards (according to RAL-GZ 716 and EN 513-2).
Because of Solar Shield Technology, RENOLIT EXOFOL FX protects profiles against excessive heat build-up. As a result, RENOLIT offers a guarantee of up to 22.5 years for this product – up to 15 years as a warranty on the film and another 7.5 years via RENOLIT‘s proprietary renovation service depending on location and availability.
- First/Base Layer: The base layer is a solid color PMMA with infrared-reflecting pigments to reduce heat build-up of the profile or boards.
- Second Layer: Next is a pigmented polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) base film with Solar Shield Technology which protect the profile against excessive heat build-up. These pigments reduce the infrared radiation and heat build up in the profile.
- Third Layer: Then the ink layer is applied.
- Fourth Layer: Next is a transparent PMMA film.
- Fifth/Top Layer: Finally, the top layer is polyvinylidene fluoride film (PVDF).

RENOLIT EXOFOL MX has a highly appealing aesthetic, with very little maintenance needed. Just ones cleaning annually with detergent and water, using a sponge or a soft brush, is sufficient to maintain the handsome look for the entire service life of the film.

INTUS windows and doors use sturdy, secure, and timeless handles in a variety of colors. Our handles coordinate with our window profiles and elements, and offer a high level of security. They use a multi-point locking system for an added layer of security. The locking points interact with a manually operated handle to bring window sashes into a turn or a tilt position.

INTUS offers double and triple glazed windows with customized glass for your building’s location, orientation, and situation for optimal performance.
- Annealed Glass: has not been heat-strengthened or tempered aka float glass
- Tempered Glass: shatters into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken, adding a layer of security in case the window is broken
- Laminated Glass: blocks more of the sun’s harmful UV rays and keeps the glass in place if it is shattered, protecting the people and contents inside the building
- Low-E Glass: reduces heat gain or loss by reflecting long-wave infrared energy (heat)
- Obscure Insulating Glass: obscures the view for more privacy, while letting the light shine through. It is available in a variety of textured surfaces.

Float glass (also called “flat” glass) that has not been heat-strengthened or tempered is “annealed glass.” Annealing float glass is the process of controlled cooling to prevent residual stress in the glass and is an inherent operation of the float glass manufacturing process. Annealed glass can be cut, machined, drilled, edged and polished.
Fully tempered glass is approximately four times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness and configuration. Residual surface compression must be over 10,000 PSI for 6 mm glass, according to ASTM C 1048.
When broken, it will break into many relatively small fragments, which are less likely to cause serious injury. The typical process to produce tempered glass involves heating the glass to over 1,000 °F, then rapidly cooling to lock the glass surfaces in a state of compression and the core in a state of tension, as shown in the diagram.
Tempered glass is often referred to as “safety glass,” because it meets the requirements of the various code organizations. This type of glass is intended for general glazing, and safety glazing such
as sliding doors, storm doors, building entrances, bath and shower enclosures, interior partitions, and other uses requiring superior strength and safety properties.
Tempered glass cannot be cut or drilled after tempering, and any alterations, such as edge grinding, sand blasting or acid etching, can cause premature failure.
Laminated glass has two or more lites that are permanently bonded by heat and pressure with one or more plastic interlayers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB). Both the glass and the interlayers can be supplied in a variety of colors and thicknesses to provide the desired appearance.
Relatively neutral in appearance, low-E coatings reduce heat gain or loss by reflecting long-wave infrared energy (heat) and, therefore, decrease the U-value and improve energy efficiency.
Current sputter-coated low-E coatings are multilayered, complex designs engineered to provide high visible light transmission, low visible light reflection and reduce heat transfer.
TINTED GLASS vs. LOW-E GLASS
Low-E reduces the amount of direct solar energy from entering the building. Before the development of low-E coatings, architects relied on tinted (heat absorbing glass) or reflective coatings to reduce solar energy transmission. Tinted glass almost always requires heat-treatment to reduce potential thermal stress and breakage and tends to reradiate the absorbed heat.
Reflective coatings are effective at reducing heat gain but also reduce visible light transmission. Low-E coatings reflect solar energy away from the glazing, often without requiring heat-treatment, and generally have lower visible light reflection.
Enamel glass is produced by applying a ceramic paint onto its surface, and then dried and tempered. It is available in an array of colors to create eclectic and modern looks. It has a high resistance to environmental exposure, thermal stress, and mechanical damage, with the properties of safety glass.
